You must bear your punishment for your obscene conduct and your abominable practices, declares the Lord.

A person with great anger bears the penalty, ¹  but if you deliver him from it once, you will have to do it again. ² 

They will repay you for your obscene conduct, and you will be punished for idol worship. ¹  Then you will know that I am the sovereign Lord.”

and likewise the men also abandoned natural relations with women ¹  and were inflamed in their passions ²  for one another. Men ³  committed shameless acts with men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

When ¹  they had heard my case, ²  they wanted to release me, ³  because there was no basis for a death sentence ⁴  against me.

They ¹  will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength, ² 

For if the message spoken through angels ¹  proved to be so firm that every violation ²  or disobedience received its just penalty,

I am confident ¹  in the Lord that you will accept no other view. ²  But the one who is confusing ³  you will pay the penalty, ⁴  whoever he may be.

If ¹  your children sinned against him, he gave them over ²  to the penalty ³  of their sin.

and he must bring his penalty for guilt ¹  to the Lord for his sin that he has committed, a female from the flock, whether a female sheep or a female goat, for a sin offering. So the priest will make atonement ²  on his behalf for ³  his sin.

“‘If he cannot afford an animal from the flock, ¹  he must bring his penalty for guilt for his sin that he has committed, ²  two turtledoves or two young pigeons, ³  to the Lord, one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering.

Moreover, you must not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death; he must surely be put to death.

¹ “Whoever strikes someone ²  so that he dies ³  must surely be put to death. ⁴ 

“Whoever strikes ¹  his father or his mother must surely be put to death.

“Whoever treats his father or his mother disgracefully ¹  must surely be put to death.

But if there is serious injury, then you will give a life for a life,

“Whoever has sexual relations ¹  with a beast must surely be put to death.

You snakes, you offspring of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? ¹ 

But ¹  he sternly ordered them not to make him known. ²
