When ¹  they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear. ² 

He ¹  saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and lower ¹  your nets for a catch.”

Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in their ¹  boat mending nets.

The fishermen will mourn and lament, all those who cast a fishhook into the river, and those who spread out a net on the water’s surface will grieve. ¹ 

Simon ¹  answered, ²  “Master, ³  we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word ⁴  I will lower ⁵  the nets.”

Fishermen will stand beside it; from Engedi to En-eglaim they will spread nets. They will catch many kinds of fish, like the fish of the Great Sea. ¹ 

She will be a place where fishing nets are spread, surrounded by the sea. For I have spoken, declares the sovereign Lord. She will become plunder for the nations,

I will make you a bare rock; you will be a place where fishing nets are spread. You will never be built again, ¹  for I, the Lord, have spoken, declares the sovereign Lord.

Going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat ¹  with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. Then ²  he called them.

The latticework on the tops of the pillars was adorned with ornamental wreaths and chains; the top of each pillar had seven groupings of ornaments. ¹ 

I discovered this: ¹  More bitter than death is the kind of ²  woman ³  who is like a hunter’s snare; ⁴  her heart is like a hunter’s net and her hands are like prison chains. The man who pleases God escapes her, but the sinner is captured by her.

Because of his success ¹  he offers sacrifices to his throw net and burns incense to his dragnet; ²  for because of them he has plenty of food, ³  and more than enough to eat. ⁴ 

The ropes of Sheol ¹  tightened around me; ²  the snares of death trapped me. ³ 

That is why snares surround you, and why sudden fear terrifies you,
