But as for you, ¹  be fruitful and multiply; increase abundantly on the earth and multiply on it.”

God blessed them ¹  and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.” ² 

saying, “Surely I will bless you greatly and multiply your descendants abundantly.” ¹ 

When humankind ¹  began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born ²  to them, ³ 

But I will harden ¹  Pharaoh’s heart, and although I will multiply ²  my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt,

There the fire will consume ¹  you; the sword will cut you down; it will devour ²  you like the young locust would.Multiply yourself ³  like the young locust; multiply yourself like the flying locust!

“Then I thought, ‘I will die in my own home, ¹  my days as numerous as the grains of sand. ² 

Then God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

I will multiply your people ¹  – the whole house of Israel, all of it. The cities will be populated and the ruins rebuilt.

I will greatly multiply your descendants,” the Lord’s angel added, ¹  “so that they will be too numerous to count.” ² 

I will turn to you, make you fruitful, multiply you, and maintain ¹  my covenant with you.

Furthermore, he must not marry many ¹  wives lest his affections turn aside, and he must not accumulate much silver and gold.

Then I will confirm my covenant ¹  between me and you, and I will give you a multitude of descendants.” ² 

when your cattle and flocks increase, when you have plenty of silver and gold, and when you have abundance of everything,

I will make the children who follow one another in the line of my servant David very numerous. I will also make the Levites who minister before me very numerous. I will make them all as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sands which are on the seashore.’” ¹ 

“Go to Bethel ¹  and rebel! ²  At Gilgal ³  rebel some more! Bring your sacrifices in ⁴  the morning, your tithes on ⁵  the third day!

Bring out with you all the living creatures that are with you. Bring out ¹  every living thing, including the birds, animals, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. Let them increase ²  and be fruitful and multiply on the earth!” ³ 

Then God said to him, “I am the sovereign God. ¹  Be fruitful and multiply! A nation – even a company of nations – will descend from you; kings will be among your descendants! ² 

Moreover, he must not accumulate horses for himself or allow the people to return to Egypt to do so, ¹  for the Lord has said you must never again return that way.

He blessed ¹  them so that they became very numerous. He would not allow their cattle to decrease in number. ²
