But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

For whenever someone says, “I am with Paul,” or “I am with Apollos,” are you not merely human? ¹ 

Let your ¹  beauty ²  not be external – the braiding of hair and wearing of gold jewelry ³  or fine clothes –

Because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep, ¹  he runs away. ²

Am I saying these things only on the basis of common sense, ¹  or does the law not say this as well?

“If ¹  you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners ²  love those who love them. ³ 

Jesus said to her, “Believe me, woman, ¹  a time ²  is coming when you will worship ³  the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

And they did this not just as we had hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us by the will of God.

Are your days like the days of a mortal, or your years like the years ¹  of a mortal,

In all hard work ¹  there is profit, but merely talking about it ²  only brings ³  poverty. ⁴ 

For with great wisdom comes ¹  great frustration; whoever increases his ²  knowledge merely ³  increases his ⁴  heartache.
