Those who empty out gold from a purse and weigh out silver on the scale ¹  hire a metalsmith, who makes it into a god. They then bow down and worship it.

My point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously ¹  will also reap generously.

You open your hand, and fill every living thing with the food they desire. ¹ 

Faithful ¹  are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses ²  of an enemy are excessive. ³ 

The Father loves the Son and has placed all things under his authority. ¹ 

The Lord who commands armies will hold a banquet for all the nations on this mountain. ¹  At this banquet there will be plenty of meat and aged wine – tender meat and choicest wine. ² 

What he will honor is a god of fortresses – a god his fathers did not acknowledge he will honor with gold, silver, valuable stones, and treasured commodities.

But as for you, ¹  be fruitful and multiply; increase abundantly on the earth and multiply on it.”

and showing covenant faithfulness ¹  to a thousand generations ²  of those who love me and keep my commandments.

but I show covenant faithfulness ¹  to the thousands ²  who choose ³  me and keep my commandments.

so that mankind ¹  might acknowledge your mighty acts, and the majestic splendor of your kingdom.

The Lord wanted to exhibit his justice by magnifying his law and displaying it. ¹ 

We did this ¹  as a precaution so that no one should blame us in regard to this generous gift we are administering.

to the praise of the glory of his grace ¹  that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son. ² 

He generously gives ¹  to the needy; his integrity endures. ²  He will be vindicated and honored. ³ 

The men feared the Lord ¹  greatly, ²  and earnestly vowed ³  to offer lavish sacrifices ⁴  to the Lord. ⁵ 

Because of his success ¹  he offers sacrifices to his throw net and burns incense to his dragnet; ²  for because of them he has plenty of food, ³  and more than enough to eat. ⁴ 

For our momentary, light suffering ¹  is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison

that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth ¹  of their generosity.

It is not because you were more numerous than all the other peoples that the Lord favored and chose you – for in fact you were the least numerous of all peoples.
