For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

he winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, and points with his fingers; ¹ 

A person who has a quick temper ¹  does foolish things, and a person with crafty schemes ²  is hated. ³ 

The intentions of the heart ¹  belong to a man, ²  but the answer of the tongue ³  comes from ⁴  the Lord. ⁵ 

For from within, out of the human heart, come evil ideas, sexual immorality, theft, murder,

The Lord’s decisions stand forever; his plans abide throughout the ages. ¹ 

Blessings ¹  are on the head of the righteous, but the speech ²  of the wicked conceals ³  violence. ⁴ 

The teaching ¹  of the righteous is a fountain of life, ²  but the speech ³  of the wicked conceals ⁴  violence. ⁵ 

A good person obtains favor from the Lord, but the Lord ¹  condemns a person with wicked schemes. ² 

For out of the heart come evil ideas, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

But Jesus realized their evil intentions and said, “Hypocrites! Why are you testing me?

Actually, there are many advantages. ¹  First of all, ²  the Jews ³  were entrusted with the oracles of God. ⁴ 

But now it is no longer me doing it, but sin that lives in me.

so that we may not be exploited ¹  by Satan (for we are not ignorant of his schemes).

Now two hundred men had gone with Absalom from Jerusalem. Since they were invited, they went naively and were unaware of what Absalom was planning. ¹ 

But I am greatly displeased with the nations that take my grace for granted. ¹  I was a little displeased with them, but they have only made things worse for themselves.

Then in the dream God replied to him, “Yes, I know that you have done this with a clear conscience. ¹  That is why I have kept you ²  from sinning against me and why ³  I did not allow you to touch her.

He said to them, “The Lord will need to be with you ¹  if I release you and your dependents! ²  Watch out! ³  Trouble is right in front of you! ⁴ 

Now if I have found favor in your sight, show me ¹  your way, that I may know you, ²  that I may continue to find ³  favor in your sight. And see ⁴  that this nation is your people.”

You must not pervert justice or show favor. Do not take a bribe, for bribes blind the eyes of the wise and distort ¹  the words of the righteous. ²
