I thought this was a good idea, ¹  so I sent ²  twelve men from among you, one from each tribe.

“I do not know who has done this thing,” Abimelech replied. “Moreover, ¹  you did not tell me. I did not hear about it until today.”

We have brought additional money with us to buy food. We do not know who put the money in our sacks!”

Thomas said, ¹  “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

He goes to sleep and gets up, night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.

So then some were shouting one thing, some another, for the assembly was in confusion, and most of them did not know why they had met together. ¹ 

For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward. But if I do it unwillingly, I am entrusted with a responsibility.

This advice made sense to Pharaoh and all his officials. ¹ 

Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him.

(Now the servant did not understand any of this. Only Jonathan and David knew what was going on.) ¹ 

This seemed like a good idea to Absalom and to all the leaders ¹  of Israel.

Mankind does not know its place; ¹  it cannot be found in the land of the living.

Indeed, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher ¹  like him?

Who can understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion? ¹ 

Blind guides! You strain out a gnat yet swallow a camel! ¹ 

“Therefore stay alert, because you do not know on what day ¹  your Lord will come.

Therefore stay alert, because you do not know the day or the hour. ¹ 

Yet ¹  his parents ²  did not understand ³  the remark ⁴  he made ⁵  to them.

So ¹  they replied that they did not know ²  where it came from.

But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”
