For though we live ¹  as human beings, ²  we do not wage war according to human standards, ³ 

Surely ¹  I am more brutish ²  than any other human being, ³  and I do not have human understanding; ⁴ 

but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, ¹  by looking like other men, ²  and by sharing in human nature. ³ 

And you must eat the food like you would a barley cake. You must bake it in front of them over a fire made with dried human excrement.” ¹ 

So he said to me, “All right then, I will substitute cow’s manure instead of human excrement. You will cook your food over it.”

“‘If a man beats any person to death, ¹  he must be put to death.

(The cherubim appeared to have the form ¹  of human hands under their wings.)

Am I saying these things only on the basis of common sense, ¹  or does the law not say this as well?

Now ¹  I want you to know, brothers and sisters, ²  that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. ³ 

These are all destined to perish with use, founded as they are ¹  on human commands and teachings. ² 

nor is he served by human hands, as if he needed anything, ¹  because he himself gives life and breath and everything to everyone. ² 

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, ¹  and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. ² 

You people ¹  judge by outward appearances; ²  I do not judge anyone. ³ 

And we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom, but with those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. ¹ 

So for me, it is a minor matter that I am judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.

The human spirit ¹  is like ²  the lamp ³  of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts. ⁴ 

(I do not accept ¹  human testimony, but I say this so that you may be saved.)

So then, ¹  it does not depend on human desire or exertion, ²  but on God who shows mercy.

Be subject to every human institution ¹  for the Lord’s sake, whether to a king as supreme

or when he touches human uncleanness with regard to anything by which he can become unclean, ¹  even if he did not realize it, but he himself has later come to know it and is guilty;
