The one who heeds instruction ¹  is on the way to ²  life, but the one who rejects ³  rebuke goes astray.

A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds reproof shows good sense. ¹ 

The one who neglects ¹  discipline ends up in ²  poverty and shame, but the one who accepts reproof is honored. ³ 

A wise son accepts ¹  his father’s discipline, ²  but a scoffer ³  does not listen to rebuke.

The one who refuses correction despises himself, ¹  but whoever hears ²  reproof acquires understanding. ³ 

The one who deals wisely ¹  in a matter ²  will find success, ³  and blessed ⁴  is the one who trusts in the Lord. ⁵ 

“The one who listens ¹  to you listens to me, ²  and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects ³  the one who sent me.” ⁴ 

The person ¹  who hears the reproof that leads to life ²  is at home ³  among the wise. ⁴ 

The way of a fool ¹  is right ²  in his own opinion, ³  but the one who listens to advice is wise. ⁴ 

Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold, ¹  so is a wise reprover to the ear of the one who listens. ² 

and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your acts of charity ¹  have been remembered before God. ²

Realize that ¹  the Lord shows the godly special favor; ²  the Lord responds ³  when I cry out to him.

The one who tends a fig tree ¹  will eat its fruit, ²  and whoever takes care of ³  his master will be honored.

Listen! ¹  I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home ²  and share a meal with him, and he with me.
