Treasures gained by wickedness ¹  do not profit, but righteousness ²  delivers from mortal danger. ³ 

if I have rejoiced because of the extent of my wealth, or because of the great wealth my hand had gained,

Fine gold cannot be given in exchange for it, nor can its price be weighed out in silver.

Be careful ¹  not to say, “My own ability and skill ²  have gotten me this wealth.”

Now ¹  the man had marital relations with ²  his wife Eve, and she became pregnant ³  and gave birth to Cain. Then she said, “I have created ⁴  a man just as the Lord did!” ⁵ 

His sons must recompense ¹  the poor; his own hands ²  must return his wealth.

An inheritance gained easily ¹  in the beginning will not be blessed ²  in the end. ³ 

By your wisdom and understanding you have gained wealth for yourself; you have amassed gold and silver in your treasuries.

He took ¹  away all the livestock he had acquired in Paddan Aram and all his moveable property that he had accumulated. Then he set out toward the land of Canaan to return to his father Isaac. ² 

You made us retreat ¹  from the enemy. Those who hate us take whatever they want from us. ² 

Wealth gained quickly ¹  will dwindle away, ²  but the one who gathers it little by little ³  will become rich. ⁴ 

And the Egyptians will know ¹  that I am the Lord when I have gained my honor ²  because of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

A psalm. Sing to the Lord a new song, ²  for he performs ³  amazing deeds! His right hand and his mighty arm accomplish deliverance. ⁴ 

Like a cage filled with the birds that have been caught, ¹  their houses are filled with the gains of their fraud and deceit. ²  That is how they have gotten so rich and powerful. ³ 

He ¹  saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.

He sucks the poison ¹  of serpents; ²  the fangs ³  of a viper ⁴  kill him.

To whom ¹  did you utter these words? And whose spirit has come forth from your mouth? ² 

Wisdom is supreme ¹  – so ²  acquire wisdom, and whatever you acquire, ³  acquire understanding! ⁴ 

“Many ¹  daughters ²  have done valiantly, ³  but you surpass them all!”

Jacob heard that Laban’s sons were complaining, ¹  “Jacob has taken everything that belonged to our father! He has gotten rich ²  at our father’s expense!” ³
