And blessed ¹  is she who believed that ²  what was spoken to her by ³  the Lord would be fulfilled.” ⁴ 

My eyes grow tired as I wait for your deliverance, ¹  for your reliable promise to be fulfilled. ²

as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing ¹  of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. ²

This fulfilled what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet: ¹ 

because these are days of vengeance, ¹  to fulfill ²  all that is written.

For all of you who ¹  were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

it is not from ¹  works, so that no one can boast. ² 

His assassination brought to fulfillment the Lord’s word to Jehu, ¹  “Four generations of your descendants will rule over Israel.” ²  That is exactly what happened. ³ 

They see delusion and their omens are a lie. ¹  They say, “the Lord declares,” though the Lord has not sent them; ²  yet they expect their word to be confirmed. ³ 

(His disciples did not understand these things when they first happened, ¹  but when Jesus was glorified, ²  then they remembered that these things were written about him and that these things had happened ³  to him.) ⁴ 

My eyes grow tired as I wait for your promise to be fulfilled. ¹  I say, ²  “When will you comfort me?”

like the accounts ¹  passed on ²  to us by those who were eyewitnesses and servants of the word ³  from the beginning. ⁴
