A person who has friends ¹  may be harmed by them, ²  but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Do not drag me away with evil men, with those who behave wickedly, ¹  who talk so friendly to their neighbors, ²  while they plan to harm them! ³ 

In that day,’ says the Lord who rules over all, ‘everyone will invite his friend to fellowship under his vine and under his fig tree.’” ¹ 

Even some of the provincial authorities ¹  who were his friends sent ²  a message ³  to him, urging him not to venture ⁴  into the theater.

By faith Rahab the prostitute escaped the destruction of ¹  the disobedient, because she welcomed the spies in peace.

May there be peace inside your defenses, and prosperity ¹  inside your fortresses! ²

When Jacob saw the look on Laban’s face, he could tell his attitude toward him had changed. ¹

just as I was in my most productive time, ¹  when God’s intimate friendship ²  was experienced in my tent,

Do not neglect hospitality, because through it some have entertained angels without knowing it. ¹ 

“These men are at peace with us. So let them live in the land and travel freely in it, for the land is wide enough ¹  for them. We will take their daughters for wives, and we will give them our daughters to marry. ² 

Isaac asked them, “Why have you come to me? You hate me ¹  and sent me away from you.”
