The household ¹  of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent ²  of the upright will flourish.

During his days the godly will flourish; ¹  peace will prevail as long as the moon remains in the sky. ² 

The godly ¹  grow like a palm tree; they grow high like a cedar in Lebanon. ² 

Planted in the Lord’s house, they grow in the courts of our God.

The one who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous ¹  will flourish like a green leaf. ² 

Can the papyrus plant grow tall ¹  where there is no marsh? Can reeds flourish ²  without water?

When the wicked sprout up like grass, and all the evildoers glisten, ¹  it is so that they may be annihilated. ² 

I will humiliate his enemies, ¹  and his crown will shine.

May there be ¹  an abundance ²  of grain in the earth; on the tops ³  of the mountains may it ⁴  sway! ⁵  May its ⁶  fruit trees ⁷  flourish ⁸  like the forests of Lebanon! ⁹  May its crops be as abundant as the grass of the earth!

When you see this, you will be happy, ¹  and you will be revived. ²  The Lord will reveal his power to his servants and his anger to his enemies. ³ 

How precious and fair! ¹  Grain will make the young men flourish and new wine the young women.

Before his time ¹  he will be paid in full, ²  and his branches will not flourish. ³ 

All the trees of the field will know that I am the Lord. I make the high tree low; I raise up the low tree. I make the green tree wither, and I make the dry tree sprout. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do it!’”

People will reside again ¹  in his shade; they will plant and harvest grain in abundance. ²  They will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.

at the scent ¹  of water it will flourish ²  and put forth ³  shoots like a new plant.

Your beginning ¹  will seem so small, since your future will flourish. ² 

The day you begin cultivating, you do what you can to make it grow; ¹  the morning you begin planting, you do what you can to make it sprout. Yet the harvest will disappear ²  in the day of disease and incurable pain.

The dry soil will become a pool of water, the parched ground springs of water. Where jackals once lived and sprawled out, grass, reeds, and papyrus will grow.

Those who remain in Judah will take root in the ground and bear fruit. ¹ 

Their young grow strong, and grow up in the open; ¹  they go off, and do not return to them.
