Fairness will produce peace ¹  and result in lasting security. ² 

For a will takes effect only at death, since it carries no force while the one who made it is alive.

He wrote ¹  a letter that went like this: ² 

The Lord frustrates ¹  the decisions of the nations; he nullifies the plans ²  of the peoples.

he does not need to honor his father.’ ¹  You have nullified the word of God on account of your tradition.

And let endurance have its perfect effect, so that you will be perfect and complete, not deficient in anything.

What then? If some did not believe, does their unbelief nullify the faithfulness of God?

Thus you nullify ¹  the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like this.”

not to be easily ¹  shaken from your composure or disturbed by any kind of spirit or message or letter allegedly from us, ²  to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here.

But God spoke as follows: ‘Your ¹  descendants will be foreigners ²  in a foreign country, whose citizens will enslave them and mistreat them for four hundred years. ³ 

It is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are truly Israel, ¹ 

So ¹  Pilate ²  decided ³  that their demand should be granted.

And the gift is not like the one who sinned. ¹  For judgment, resulting from the one transgression, ²  led to condemnation, but ³  the gracious gift from the many failures ⁴  led to justification.

Whoever strikes it with a sword ¹  will have no effect, ²  nor with the spear, arrow, or dart.

Then ¹  Jesus ²  told them a parable to show them they should always ³  pray and not lose heart. ⁴ 

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is futile and your faith is empty.

So Hilkiah and the others sent by the king ¹  went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, ²  the supervisor of the wardrobe. ³  (She lived in Jerusalem in the Mishneh ⁴  district.) They stated their business, ⁵ 

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel – and not with clever speech, so that the cross of Christ would not become useless. ¹ 

What I am saying is this: The law that came four hundred thirty years later does not cancel a covenant previously ratified by God, ¹  so as to invalidate the promise.

Do we then nullify ¹  the law through faith? Absolutely not! Instead ²  we uphold the law.
