Then Samson’s father accompanied him to Timnah for the marriage. ¹  Samson hosted a party ²  there, for this was customary for bridegrooms ³  to do.

So ¹  Simeon, ²  directed by the Spirit, ³  came into the temple courts, ⁴  and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what was customary according to the law, ⁵ 

But so that I may not delay ¹  you any further, I beg ²  you to hear us briefly ³  with your customary graciousness. ⁴ 

During the feast it was customary to release one prisoner to the people, ¹  whomever they requested.

On one occasion in Shiloh, after they had finished eating and drinking, Hannah got up. ¹  (Now at the time Eli the priest was sitting in his chair ²  by the doorpost of the Lord’s temple.)

Now ¹  on the first day of the feast of ²  Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed, ³  Jesus’ ⁴  disciples said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?” ⁵ 

If he designated her for his son, then he will deal with her according to the customary rights ¹  of daughters.

“‘You must not approach a woman in her menstrual impurity ¹  to have sexual intercourse with her.

On the first day there will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work. ¹ 

You must not do any regular work, but ¹  you must present a gift to the Lord.’”

On the first day is a holy assembly; you must do no regular work. ¹ 

And on the first day there is to be a holy assembly; you must do no ordinary work ¹  on it.

On the seventh day you are to have a holy assembly, you must do no regular work.

“‘On the eighth day you are to have a holy assembly; you must do no ordinary work on it.

They took forty days, for that is the full time needed for embalming. ¹  The Egyptians mourned ²  for him seventy days. ³ 

¹ “If a man seduces a virgin ²  who is not engaged ³  and has sexual relations with her, he must surely endow ⁴  her to be his wife.

The Israelites mourned for Moses in the deserts of Moab for thirty days; then the days of mourning for Moses ended.

The king then inquired of the wise men who were discerners of the times – for it was the royal custom to confer with all those who were proficient in laws and legalities. ¹ 

Then you will do as I have done: You will not cover your lip or eat food brought by others. ¹ 

Then they took Jesus’ body and wrapped it, with the aromatic spices, ¹  in strips of linen cloth ²  according to Jewish burial customs. ³
