He frustrates ¹  the plans ²  of the crafty ³  so that ⁴  their hands cannot accomplish what they had planned! ⁵ 

Your sin inspires ¹  your mouth; you choose the language ²  of the crafty. ³ 

They carefully plot ¹  against your people, and make plans to harm ²  the ones you cherish. ³ 

But be that as it may, I have not burdened you. Yet because I was a crafty person, I took you in by deceit!

Now Amnon had a friend named Jonadab, the son of David’s brother Shimeah. Jonadab was a very crafty man.

A person who has a quick temper ¹  does foolish things, and a person with crafty schemes ²  is hated. ³ 

Suddenly ¹  a woman came out to meet him! She was dressed like a prostitute ²  and with secret intent. ³

The businessmen love to cheat; ¹  they use dishonest scales. ² 

A good person obtains favor from the Lord, but the Lord ¹  condemns a person with wicked schemes. ² 

A fool will no longer be called honorable; a deceiver will no longer be called principled.

Those who seek my life try to entrap me; ¹  those who want to harm me speak destructive words; all day long they say deceitful things.

But ¹  he said to them, “Go ²  and tell that fox, ³  ‘Look, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day ⁴  I will complete my work. ⁵
