You set up all the boundaries ¹  of the earth; you created the cycle of summer and winter. ² 

The Lord tears down the house of the proud, ¹  but he maintains the boundaries of the widow. ² 

Then the border will continue down the Jordan River ¹  and its direction will be to the Salt Sea. This will be your land by its borders that surround it.’”

When the Most High ¹  gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided up humankind, ²  he set the boundaries of the peoples, according to the number of the heavenly assembly. ³ 

From one man ¹  he made every nation of the human race ²  to inhabit the entire earth, ³  determining their set times ⁴  and the fixed limits of the places where they would live, ⁵ 

“Give these instructions ¹  to the Israelites, and tell them: ‘When you enter Canaan, the land that has been assigned to you as an inheritance, ²  the land of Canaan with its borders,

For he says: “By my strong hand I have accomplished this, by my strategy that I devised. I invaded the territory of nations, ¹  and looted their storehouses. Like a mighty conqueror, ²  I brought down rulers. ³ 

The Jordan River borders it on the east. These were the borders of the land assigned to the tribe of Benjamin by its clans. ¹ 

Their assigned land ¹  included Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem,

This is what the sovereign Lord says: “Here ¹  are the borders ²  you will observe as you allot the land to the twelve tribes of Israel. (Joseph will have two portions.) ³ 

Therefore no one will assign you land in the Lord’s community. ¹ 

You must set boundaries ¹  for the people all around, saying, ‘Take heed ²  to yourselves not to go up on the mountain nor touch its edge. Whoever touches the mountain will surely be put to death!

Moses said to the Lord, “The people are not able to come up to Mount Sinai, because you solemnly warned us, ¹  ‘Set boundaries for the mountain and set it apart.’” ²

Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph,

He makes nations great, ¹  and destroys them; he extends the boundaries of nations and disperses ²  them. ³ 

when I prescribed ¹  its limits, and set ²  in place its bolts and doors,

He piles up the water of the sea; ¹  he puts the oceans ²  in storehouses.
