So ¹  when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followed ²  him.

But some boats from Tiberias ¹  came to shore ²  near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. ³ 

So ¹  after leaving the crowd, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat, ²  and other boats were with him.

He ¹  saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.

So when the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats ¹  and came to Capernaum ²  looking for Jesus.

So ¹  they motioned ²  to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were about to sink. ³ 

He got into ¹  one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Then ²  Jesus ³  sat down ⁴  and taught the crowds from the boat.

They glide by ¹  like reed ²  boats, like an eagle that swoops ³  down on its prey. ⁴ 

for all the large ships, ¹  for all the impressive ²  ships. ³ 

that sends messengers by sea, who glide over the water’s surface in boats made of papyrus. Go, you swift messengers, to a nation of tall, smooth-skinned people, ¹  to a people that are feared far and wide, ²  to a nation strong and victorious, ³  whose land rivers divide. ⁴ 

we will get all the timber you need from Lebanon ¹  and bring it ²  in raft-like bundles ³  by sea to Joppa. You can then haul it on up to Jerusalem.”
