But on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

But ¹  a suitable day ²  came, when Herod gave a banquet on his birthday for his court officials, military commanders, and leaders of Galilee.

On the third day it was Pharaoh’s birthday, so he gave a feast for all his servants. He “lifted up” ¹  the head of the chief cupbearer and the head of the chief baker in the midst of his servants.

After this Job opened his mouth ²  and cursed ³  the day he was born. ⁴ 

Everyone who crosses over to those numbered, from twenty years old and up, is to pay an offering to the Lord.

Now the day ²  came when Job’s ³  sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,

The king says, ¹  “I will announce the Lord’s decree. He said to me: ²  ‘You are my son! ³  This very day I have become your father!

Now his sons used to go ¹  and hold ²  a feast in the house of each one in turn, ³  and they would send and invite ⁴  their three ⁵  sisters to eat and to drink with them.
