Nevertheless, let us live up to the standard ¹  that we have already attained. ² 

What shall we say then? – that the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness obtained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith,

but Israel even though pursuing ¹  a law of righteousness ²  did not attain it. ³

If you keep quiet at this time, liberation and protection for the Jews will appear ²  from another source, ³  while you and your father’s household perish. It may very well be ⁴  that you have achieved royal status ⁵  for such a time as this!”
