For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them. ¹ 

You have been born anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.

Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all ¹  be born from above.’ ² 

You bring their lives to an end and they “fall asleep.” ¹  In the morning they are like the grass that sprouts up;

in the morning it glistens ¹  and sprouts up; at evening time it withers ²  and dries up.

Then they will place their confidence in God. They will not forget the works of God, and they will obey ¹  his commands.

Your perpetual ruins will be rebuilt; ¹  you will reestablish the ancient foundations. You will be called, ‘The one who repairs broken walls, the one who makes the streets inhabitable again.’ ² 

I ¹  tell you, from now on I will not drink of this fruit ²  of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

I tell you the truth, ¹  I will no longer drink of the fruit ²  of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

who will transform these humble bodies of ours ¹  into the likeness of his glorious body by means of that power by which he is able to subject all things to himself.
