Then King Belshazzar was very terrified, and he was visibly shaken. ¹  His nobles were completely dumbfounded.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. ¹ 

Then ¹  as they went into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe ²  sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

Then all the color drained from the king’s face ¹  and he became alarmed. ²  The joints of his hips gave way, ³  and his knees began knocking together.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come. ¹ 

But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. ¹  He has been raised! ²  He is not here. Look, there is the place where they laid him.

If an alarm sounds ¹  in a city, do people not fear? ²  If disaster overtakes a ³  city, is the Lord not responsible? ⁴ 

But Paul went down, ¹  threw himself ²  on the young man, ³  put his arms around him, ⁴  and said, “Do not be distressed, for he is still alive!” ⁵ 

not to be easily ¹  shaken from your composure or disturbed by any kind of spirit or message or letter allegedly from us, ²  to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here.

“As for me, Daniel, my spirit was distressed, ¹  and the visions of my mind ²  were alarming me.

The police officers reported these words to the magistrates. They were frightened when they heard Paul and Silas ¹  were Roman citizens ² 

Due to the noise ¹  caused by the king and his nobles, the queen mother ²  then entered the banquet room. She ³  said, “O king, live forever! Don’t be alarmed! Don’t be shaken!

But the more the Egyptians ¹  oppressed them, the more they multiplied and spread. ²  As a result the Egyptians loathed ³  the Israelites,

Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he decided to seek the Lord’s advice. ¹  He decreed that all Judah should observe a fast.

If the river rages, ¹  it is not disturbed, it is secure, ²  though the Jordan should surge up to its mouth.

The Lord ¹  made his people very fruitful, and made them ²  more numerous than their ³  enemies.

Then Daniel (whose name is also Belteshazzar) was upset for a brief time; ¹  his thoughts were alarming him. The king said, “Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream and its interpretation alarm you.” But Belteshazzar replied, “Sir, ²  if only the dream were for your enemies and its interpretation applied to your adversaries!

When King Herod ¹  heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.

When Pilate heard what they said, ¹  he was more afraid than ever, ² 

They caused confusion among ¹  the crowd and the city officials ²  who heard these things.
