Conduct yourselves ¹  with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunities.

when they see your pure and reverent conduct. ¹ 

The way of the guilty person ¹  is devious, ²  but as for the pure, ³  his way is upright.

but, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct,

Let no one look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in your speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, ¹  and purity.

Even a young man ¹  is known ²  by his actions, whether his activity is pure and whether it is right. ³ 

You, however, ¹  have followed my teaching, my ²  way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance,

in case I am delayed, to let you know how people ought to conduct themselves ¹  in the household of God, because it is ²  the church of the living God, the support and bulwark of the truth.

Carrying out a wicked scheme ¹  is enjoyable ²  to a fool, and so is wisdom for the one who has discernment. ³ 

and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man in anguish over the debauched lifestyle of lawless ¹  men, ² 

For you have said, ‘My teaching ¹  is flawless, and I am pure in your sight.’

and maintain good conduct ¹  among the non-Christians, ²  so that though ³  they now malign you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God when he appears. ⁴ 

Only conduct yourselves ¹  in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ so that – whether I come and see you or whether I remain absent – I should hear that ²  you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind, by contending side by side for the faith of the gospel, ³

You are witnesses, and so is God, as to how holy and righteous and blameless our conduct was toward you who believe.

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show his works done in the gentleness that wisdom brings. ¹
