Those of them who were numbered from the tribe of Simeon were 59,300.

Those numbered in his division are 59,300.

These were the families of Issachar, according to those numbered of them, 64,300. ¹ 

from the descendants of Zattu, ¹  Shecaniah son of Jahaziel, and with him 300 men;

His officials also willingly contributed to the people, priests, and Levites. Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, the leaders of God’s temple, supplied 2,600 Passover sacrifices and 300 cattle.

Three hundred men lapped; ¹  the rest of the men ²  kneeled to drink water.

The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men who lapped I will deliver the whole army ¹  and I will hand Midian over to you. ²  The rest of the men should go home.” ³
