Then he brought me to the porch of the temple and measured the jambs of the porch as 8¾ feet ¹  on either side, and the width of the gate was 24½ feet ²  and the sides ³  were 5¼ feet ⁴  on each side.

So the Israelites went through the middle of the sea on dry ground, the water forming a wall ¹  for them on their right and on their left.

he lived in ruined towns ¹  and in houses where ²  no one lives, where they are ready to crumble into heaps. ³

A psalm of Asaph. O God, foreigners ²  have invaded your chosen land; ³  they have polluted your holy temple and turned Jerusalem ⁴  into a heap of ruins.

I saw ¹  that thorns had grown up all over it, the ground ²  was covered with weeds, and its stone wall was broken down.

The night watchmen found me – the ones who guard the city walls. ¹  “Have you seen my beloved?” ² 

¹ Why do you insist on being battered? Why do you continue to rebel? ²  Your head has a massive wound, ³  your whole body is weak. ⁴
