The Lord ¹  will attack the north ²  and destroy Assyria. He will make Nineveh a heap of ruins; it will be as barren ³  as the desert.

The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, and it collapsed; it was utterly destroyed!” ¹ 

Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. He ¹  said to Peter, “So, couldn’t you stay awake with me for one hour?

Other seed fell among the thorns, ¹  and they grew up and choked it, ²  and it did not produce grain.

The girl got up at once and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). They were completely astonished at this. ¹ 

People were completely astounded and said, “He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, ¹  today – this very night – before a rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

Then ¹  as they went into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe ²  sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

and a woman was there ¹  who had been disabled by a spirit ²  for eighteen years. She ³  was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely. ⁴ 

He will come and destroy ¹  those tenants and give the vineyard to others.” ²  When the people ³  heard this, they said, “May this never happen!” ⁴ 

Jesus replied, ¹  “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow ²  today until you have denied ³  three times that you know me.”

While the man ¹  was hanging on to Peter and John, all the people, completely astounded, ran together to them in the covered walkway ²  called Solomon’s Portico. ³ 

Even Simon himself believed, and after he was baptized, he stayed close to ¹  Philip constantly, and when he saw the signs and great miracles that were occurring, he was amazed. ² 

Sober up as you should, and stop sinning! For some have no knowledge of God – I say this to your shame!

Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” ¹ 

Therefore we do not despair, ¹  but even if our physical body ²  is wearing away, our inner person ³  is being renewed day by day.

because some say, “His letters are weighty and forceful, but his physical presence is weak ¹  and his speech is of no account.” ² 

Now I will most gladly spend and be spent for your lives! ¹  If I love you more, am I to be loved less?

For people ¹  will be lovers of themselves, ²  lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

But we are not among those who shrink back and thus perish, but are among those who have faith and preserve their souls. ¹
