On the vine there were three branches. As it budded, its blossoms opened and its clusters ripened into grapes.

the oracle of the one who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the Almighty, although falling flat on the ground ¹  with eyes open: ² 

“Indeed, I am completely unworthy ¹  – how could I reply to you? I put ²  my hand over my mouth to silence myself. ³ 

The Lord rewarded me for my godly deeds; ¹  he took notice of my blameless behavior. ² 

I spread out my hands all day long to my rebellious people, who lived in a way that is morally unacceptable, and who did what they desired. ¹ 

Then the Lord said, “This means ¹  destruction will break out from the north on all who live in the land.

He measured the porch of the gate as 14 feet, ¹  and its jambs as 3½ feet; ²  the porch of the gate faced inward.

There were seven steps going up to it; its porches were in front of them. It had decorative palm trees on its jambs, one on either side.

Now as they went on their way, Jesus ¹  entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him as a guest. ² 

When they heard this, ¹  they ceased their objections ²  and praised ³  God, saying, “So then, God has granted the repentance ⁴  that leads to life even to the Gentiles.” ⁵ 

When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she did not open the gate, but ran back in and told ¹  them ²  that Peter was standing at the gate.

But when they recognized ¹  that he was a Jew, they all shouted in unison, ²  “Great is Artemis ³  of the Ephesians!” for about two hours. ⁴ 

and I always ask ¹  in my prayers, if perhaps now at last I may succeed in visiting you according to the will of God. ² 

“Their throats are open graves, ¹  they deceive with their tongues, the poison of asps is under their lips.” ² 

But about Israel he says, “All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!” ¹ 

And no creature is hidden from God, ¹  but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the holy place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle ¹  was standing.

But so that we don’t offend them, go to the lake and throw out a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth, you will find a four drachma coin. ¹  Take that and give it to them for me and you.”

‘I know your deeds. (Look! I have put ¹  in front of you an open door that no one can shut.) ²  I know ³  that you have little strength, ⁴  but ⁵  you have obeyed ⁶  my word and have not denied my name.

Moses stretched out his hand toward the sea, and the Lord drove the sea apart ¹  by a strong east wind all that night, and he made the sea into dry land, and the water was divided.
