A ¹  very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

Because of the crowd, he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him so the crowd ¹  would not press toward him.

A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, “Look, your mother and your brothers ¹  are outside looking for you.”

So ¹  after leaving the crowd, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat, ²  and other boats were with him.

After Jesus ¹  took him aside privately, away from the crowd, he put his fingers in the man’s ²  ears, and after spitting, he touched his tongue. ³ 

In those days there was another large crowd with nothing to eat. So ¹  Jesus ²  called his disciples and said to them,

A crowd of people from the towns around Jerusalem ¹  also came together, bringing the sick and those troubled by unclean spirits. ²  They ³  were all ⁴  being healed.

The whole group kept quiet ¹  and listened to Barnabas and Paul while they explained all the miraculous signs ²  and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them.

The crowd joined the attack ¹  against them, and the magistrates tore the clothes ²  off Paul and Silas ³  and ordered them to be beaten with rods. ⁴ 

Some of them were persuaded ¹  and joined Paul and Silas, along with a large group ²  of God-fearing Greeks ³  and quite a few ⁴  prominent women.

The heavens and the earth ¹  were completed with everything that was in them. ² 

a trembling ¹  gripped me – and a terror! – and made all my bones shake. ² 

It scorns the tumult in the town; it does not hear the shouts of a driver. ¹ 

I am not afraid ¹  of the multitude of people ²  who attack me from all directions. ³ 

Which of the trees of Eden was like you in majesty and loftiness? You will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth; you will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword! This is what will happen to Pharaoh and all his hordes, declares the sovereign Lord.’”

“Elam is there with all her hordes around her grave; all of them struck down by the sword. They went down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth, those who spread terror in the land of the living. Now they will bear their shame with those who descend to the pit.

Among the dead they have made a bed for her, along with all her hordes around her grave. ¹  All of them are uncircumcised, killed by the sword, for their terror had spread in the land of the living. They bear their shame along with those who descend to the pit; they are placed among the dead.

And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth ¹  in Galilee.”

When the crowds heard this, they were amazed at his teaching.

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,
