Command those who are rich in this world’s goods ¹  not to be haughty or to set their hope on riches, which are uncertain, ²  but on God who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment.

Let its morning stars ¹  be darkened; let it wait ²  for daylight but find none, ³  nor let it see the first rays ⁴  of dawn,

I will continually ¹  thank you when ²  you execute judgment; ³  I will rely ⁴  on you, ⁵  for your loyal followers know you are good. ⁶

Yes, you are the one who brought me out ¹  from the womb and made me feel secure on my mother’s breasts.

Guide me into your truth ¹  and teach me. For you are the God who delivers me; on you I rely all day long.
