So ¹  I looked ²  and here came ³  a pale green ⁴  horse! The ⁵  name of the one who rode it ⁶  was Death, and Hades followed right behind. ⁷  They ⁸  were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill its population with the sword, ⁹  famine, and disease, and by the wild animals of the earth.

Then you will take ¹  it to your father. Thus he will eat it ²  and ³  bless you before he dies.”

then he ¹  will drive out all these nations ahead of you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.

He will infect you with all the diseases of Egypt ¹  that you dreaded, and they will persistently afflict you. ² 

The Lord will do to them just what he did to Sihon and Og, the Amorite kings, and to their land, which he destroyed.

He will take your best fields and vineyards and give them to his own servants.

He will take your male and female servants, as well as your best cattle and your donkeys, and assign them for his own use.

May the Lord be our judge and arbiter. May he see and arbitrate my case and deliver me from your hands!”

So Achish trusted David, thinking to himself, ¹  “He is really hated ²  among his own people in ³  Israel! From now on ⁴  he will be my servant.”

Take ¹  ten loaves of bread, some small cakes, and a container of honey and visit him. He will tell you what will happen to the boy.”

if you become ¹  pure ²  and upright, ³  even now he will rouse himself ⁴  for you, and will restore ⁵  your righteous abode. ⁶

O Lord, do not let me be humiliated, for I call out to you! May evil men be humiliated! May they go wailing to the grave! ¹ 

Rely ¹  on the Lord! Obey his commands! ²  Then he will permit you ³  to possess the land; you will see the demise of evil men. ⁴
