Now ¹  a woman was there who had been suffering from a hemorrhage ²  for twelve years. ³ 

Then he directed them all to sit down in groups on the green grass.

There were about four thousand ¹  who ate. ²  Then he dismissed them. ³ 

And they began making fun ¹  of him, because they knew ²  that she was dead. ³ 

But others jeered at the speakers, ¹  saying, “They are drunk on new wine!” ² 

saying, “You went to ¹  uncircumcised men and shared a meal with ²  them.”

But the crowd ¹  began to shout, ²  “The voice of a god, ³  and not of a man!”

For by it the people of old ¹  received God’s commendation. ² 

The customer will no longer pay the seller ¹  while both parties are alive, for the vision against their whole crowd ²  will not be revoked. Each person, for his iniquity, ³  will fail to preserve his life.

He got into ¹  one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Then ²  Jesus ³  sat down ⁴  and taught the crowds from the boat.

As ¹  the crowds were increasing, Jesus ²  began to say, “This generation is a wicked generation; it looks for a sign, ³  but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. ⁴ 

But Peter stood up ¹  with the eleven, raised his voice, and addressed them: “You men of Judea ²  and all you who live in Jerusalem, ³  know this ⁴  and listen carefully to what I say.

The priest of the temple ¹  of Zeus, ²  located just outside the city, brought bulls ³  and garlands ⁴  to the city gates; he and the crowds wanted to offer sacrifices to them. ⁵ 

But Jews came from Antioch ¹  and Iconium, ²  and after winning ³  the crowds over, they stoned ⁴  Paul and dragged him out of the city, presuming him to be dead.

the commanding officer ¹  ordered Paul ²  to be brought back into the barracks. ³  He told them ⁴  to interrogate Paul ⁵  by beating him with a lash ⁶  so that he could find out the reason the crowd ⁷  was shouting at Paul ⁸  in this way.

Protect me from ¹  the wicked men who attack ²  me, my enemies who crowd around me for the kill. ³ 

Then I will give you thanks in the great assembly; ¹  I will praise you before a large crowd of people! ² 

For they do not try to make peace with others, ¹  but plan ways to deceive those who are unsuspecting. ² 

before the vindictive enemy who ridicules and insults me. ¹ 

We would share personal thoughts with each other; ¹  in God’s temple we would walk together among the crowd.
