So ¹  when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave ²  well.

When a strong man, ¹  fully armed, guards his own palace, ²  his possessions are safe. ³ 

Furthermore, some women of our group amazed us. ¹  They ²  were at the tomb early this morning,

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! ¹  Why do you listen to him?”

Completely baffled, they said, ¹  “Aren’t ²  all these who are speaking Galileans?

Every person ¹  who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed ²  from the people.’ ³ 

My children – I am again undergoing birth pains until Christ is formed in you! ¹ 

But now, put off all such things ¹  as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

and our Lord’s grace was abundant, bringing faith and love in Christ Jesus. ¹ 

and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.

In spite of this, however, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them and abhor them to make a complete end of them, to break my covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God.

the water coming downstream toward them stopped flowing. ¹  It piled up far upstream ²  at Adam (the city near Zarethan); there was no water at all flowing to the sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea). ³  The people crossed the river opposite Jericho. ⁴ 

This is what the Lord who rules over all ¹  says, “Babylon’s thick wall ²  will be completely demolished. ³  Her high gates will be set on fire. The peoples strive for what does not satisfy. ⁴  The nations grow weary trying to get what will be destroyed.” ⁵ 

In that day people will sing this taunt song to you – they will mock you with this lament: ¹  ‘We are completely destroyed; they sell off ²  the property of my people. How they remove it from me! ³  They assign our fields to the conqueror.’ ⁴ 

God saw all that he had made – and it was very good! ¹  There was evening, and there was morning, the sixth day.

The waters completely inundated ¹  the earth so that even ²  all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered.

because we are about to destroy ¹  it. The outcry against this place ²  is so great before the Lord that he ³  has sent us to destroy it.”

Then you are to anoint the altar for the burnt offering with ¹  all its utensils; you are to sanctify the altar, and it will be the most holy altar.

but the rest of the bull – its hide, its flesh, and its dung – he completely burned up ¹  outside the camp just as the Lord had commanded Moses. ² 

The priest will then examine it, ¹  and if ²  the infection has turned white, the priest is to pronounce the person with the infection clean ³  – he is clean.
