Next to the border of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, Zebulun will have one portion.

“Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way by the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles –

And as he sowed, some seeds ¹  fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them.

When he found a pearl of great value, he went out and sold everything he had and bought it.

There the centurion ¹  found ²  a ship from Alexandria ³  sailing for Italy, and he put us aboard it.

There ¹  we found ²  some brothers ³  and were invited to stay with them seven days. And in this way we came to Rome. ⁴ 

On this topic we have much to say ¹  and it is difficult to explain, since you have become sluggish ²  in hearing.

So ¹  the one seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.

If you happen to notice a bird’s nest along the road, whether in a tree or on the ground, and there are chicks or eggs with the mother bird sitting on them, ¹  you must not take the mother from the young. ² 

For the Lord your God dried up the water of the Jordan before you while you crossed over. It was just like when the Lord your God dried up the Red Sea before us while we crossed it. ¹ 

When the men of Israel who were in the valley and across the Jordan saw that the men of Israel had fled and that Saul and his sons were dead, they abandoned the cities and fled. The Philistines came and occupied them.

Then all the men of Israel began coming to the king. They asked the king, “Why did our brothers, the men of Judah, sneak the king away and help the king and his household cross the Jordan – and not only him but all of David’s men as well?”

So the Lord scattered them from there across the face of the entire earth, and they stopped building ¹  the city.
