This day ¹  I have told you what he said. ²  But you do not want to obey the Lord by doing what he sent me to tell you. ³ 

So now be very sure of this: You will die from war, starvation, or disease in the place where you want to go and live.”

ב (Bet) The precious sons of Zion were worth their weight in gold – Alas! – but now they are treated like ¹  broken clay pots, made by a potter. ² 

I will exhaust my rage on you, and then my fury will turn from you. I will calm down and no longer be angry.

In front of the chambers was a walkway on the inner side, 17½ feet ¹  wide at a distance of 1¾ feet, ²  and their entrances were on the north.

Now the upper chambers were narrower, because the galleries took more space from them than from the lower and middle chambers of the building.

As for the outer wall by the side of the chambers, toward the outer court facing the chambers, it was 87½ feet ¹  long.

Below these chambers was a passage on the east side as one enters from the outer court.

At the beginning ¹  of the wall of the court toward the south, ²  facing the courtyard and the building, were chambers

I am delighted to tell you about the signs and wonders that the most high God has done for me.

I saw a dream that ¹  frightened me badly. The things I imagined while lying on my bed – these visions of my mind – were terrifying me.

There is only cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery. They resort to violence and bloodshed. ¹ 

And I will grant my two witnesses authority ¹  to prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.

Then all the men of Israel began coming to the king. They asked the king, “Why did our brothers, the men of Judah, sneak the king away and help the king and his household cross the Jordan – and not only him but all of David’s men as well?”

I will remember and weep! ¹  For I was once walking along with the great throng to the temple of God, shouting and giving thanks along with the crowd as we celebrated the holy festival. ² 

When I came to the spring today, I prayed, ‘O Lord, God of my master Abraham, if you have decided to make my journey successful, ¹  may events unfold as follows: ² 

When Rebekah heard what her older son Esau had said, ¹  she quickly summoned ²  her younger son Jacob and told him, “Look, your brother Esau is planning to get revenge by killing you. ³ 

Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his own hand and put it on Joseph’s. He clothed him with fine linen ¹  clothes and put a gold chain around his neck.

Now Joseph was the ruler of the country, the one who sold grain to all the people of the country. ¹  Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down ²  before him with ³  their faces to the ground.

When Joseph saw his brothers, he recognized them, but he pretended to be a stranger ¹  to them and spoke to them harshly. He asked, “Where do you come from?” They answered, ²  “From the land of Canaan, to buy grain for food.” ³
