The Lord also will deliver the homes ¹  of Judah first, so that the splendor of the kingship ²  of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not exceed that of Judah.

But if the ministry that produced death – carved in letters on stone tablets ¹  – came with glory, so that the Israelites ²  could not keep their eyes fixed on the face of Moses because of the glory of his face ³  (a glory ⁴  which was made ineffective), ⁵ 

Then Moses said, “This is what the Lord has commanded you to do ¹  so that the glory of the Lord may appear ²  to you.”

The priests could not carry out their duties ¹  because of the cloud; the Lord’s glory filled his temple. ² 

Look up, ¹  you gates! Rise up, ²  you eternal doors! Then the majestic king ³  will enter! ⁴ 

Look up, you gates! Rise up, you eternal doors! Then the majestic king will enter!

The Lord’s shout bends ¹  the large trees ²  and strips ³  the leaves from the forests. ⁴  Everyone in his temple says, “Majestic!” ⁵ 

Not to us, O Lord, not to us! But to your name bring honor, ²  for the sake of your loyal love and faithfulness. ³ 

The splendor ¹  of the Lord will be revealed, and all people ²  will see it at the same time. For ³  the Lord has decreed it.” ⁴ 

For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers ¹  the nations, but the Lord shines on you; his splendor ²  appears over you.

Residents of Mareshah, ¹  a conqueror will attack you, ²  the leaders of Israel shall flee to Adullam. ³ 

But I (the Lord says) will be a wall of fire surrounding Jerusalem ¹  and the source of glory in her midst.’”

They said to him, “Permit one of us to sit at your right hand and the other at your left in your glory.”

And now, Father, glorify me at your side ¹  with the glory I had with you before the world was created. ² 

and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings ¹  or birds or four-footed animals ²  or reptiles.

For if by my lie the truth of God enhances ¹  his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

He ¹  did not waver in unbelief about the promise of God but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.

For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared ¹  to the glory that will be revealed to us.

who are Israelites. To them belong ¹  the adoption as sons, ²  the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple worship, ³  and the promises.

For every one of God’s promises are “Yes” in him; therefore also through him the “Amen” is spoken, to the glory we give to God.
