The Lord says, “Watch out! ¹  The time is soon coming when I will punish all those who are circumcised only in the flesh. ² 

I, the Lord, say: ¹  ‘That is how I will deal with this city and its citizens. I will make it like Topheth.

Return it to its sheath! ¹  In the place where you were created, ²  in your native land, I will judge you.

I will deal with the people and priests together: ¹  I will punish them both for their ways, and I will repay them for their deeds.

So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own. ¹ 

For by the standard you judge you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive. ¹ 

You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

For what does it benefit a person ¹  if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? Or what can a person give in exchange for his life?

So also my heavenly Father will do to you, if each of you does not forgive your ¹  brother ²  from your heart.”

Jesus ¹  called the twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits. ² 

Jesus ordered them not to tell anything. But as much as he ordered them not to do this, they proclaimed it all the more. ¹ 

Many scolded ¹  him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

For I was afraid of you, because you are a severe ¹  man. You withdraw ²  what you did not deposit ³  and reap what you did not sow.’

Jesus said, “Have ¹  the people sit down.” (Now there was a lot of grass in that place.) ²  So the men ³  sat down, about five thousand in number.

For a man named Demetrius, a silversmith who made silver shrines ¹  of Artemis, ²  brought a great deal ³  of business ⁴  to the craftsmen.

“Their throats are open graves, ¹  they deceive with their tongues, the poison of asps is under their lips.” ² 

For if they become heirs by the law, faith is empty and the promise is nullified. ¹ 

Now receive the one who is weak in the faith, and do not have disputes over differing opinions. ¹ 

For even though I am absent physically, ¹  I am present in spirit. And I have already judged the one who did this, just as though I were present. ² 

They are darkened in their understanding, ¹  being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.
