so that you may know for certain ¹  the things you were taught. ² 

He went away from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed,

Now they understand ¹  that everything ²  you have given me comes from you,

But if you want anything in addition, ¹  it will have to be settled ²  in a legal assembly. ³ 

And to all these ¹  virtues ²  add ³  love, which is the perfect bond. ⁴ 

Reinforce ¹  these commands, ²  so that they will be beyond reproach.

Everyone ¹  who goes on ahead and does not remain ²  in the teaching of Christ ³  does not have God. ⁴  The one who remains in this teaching has both the Father and the Son.

Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “It is not within my power, ¹  but God will speak concerning ²  the welfare of Pharaoh.” ³
