and when James, Cephas, ¹  and John, who had a reputation as ²  pillars, ³  recognized ⁴  the grace that had been given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me ⁵  the right hand of fellowship, agreeing ⁶  that we would go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. ⁷ 

And if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah, who is to come.

So Jesus replied ¹  to him, “Let it happen now, ²  for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John ³  yielded ⁴  to him.

He was a lamp that was burning and shining, ¹  and you wanted to rejoice greatly for a short time ²  in his light.

Then when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, ¹  do you love me more than these do?” ²  He replied, ³  “Yes, Lord, you know I love you.” ⁴  Jesus ⁵  told him, “Feed my lambs.”

Jesus ¹  said ²  a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed ³  that Jesus ⁴  asked ⁵  him a third time, “Do you love me?” and said, ⁶  “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus ⁷  replied, ⁸  “Feed my sheep.

After ¹  making Peter and John ²  stand in their midst, they began to inquire, “By what power or by what name ³  did you do this?”

When they were released, Peter and John ¹  went to their fellow believers ²  and reported everything the high priests and the elders had said to them.

So after Peter and John ¹  had solemnly testified ²  and spoken the word of the Lord, ³  they started back to Jerusalem, proclaiming ⁴  the good news to many Samaritan villages ⁵  as they went. ⁶ 

He himself was not the light, but he came to testify ¹  about the light.

When John’s ¹  two disciples heard him say this, ²  they followed Jesus. ³ 

John ¹  answered them, ²  “The person who has two tunics ³  must share with the person who has none, and the person who has food must do likewise.”

John ¹  said, “I am the voice of one shouting in the wilderness, ‘Make straight ²  the way for the Lord,’ ³  as Isaiah the prophet said.”

So Herodias nursed a grudge against him and wanted to kill him. But ¹  she could not

who then ¹  testified to everything that he saw concerning the word of God and the testimony about ²  Jesus Christ.

And I saw the holy city – the new Jerusalem – descending out of heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband.

Now ¹  when the other ten ²  heard this, ³  they were angry with the two brothers.

Gazing at Jesus as he walked by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” ¹ 

(although Jesus himself was not baptizing, but his disciples were), ¹ 

But when they had ordered them to go outside the council, ¹  they began to confer with one another,
