I know ¹  that the Lord defends the cause of the oppressed and vindicates the poor. ² 

All the days ¹  of the afflicted ²  are bad, ³  but one with ⁴  a cheerful heart has a continual feast. ⁵ 

Those who make cloth ¹  will be demoralized; ²  all the hired workers will be depressed. ³ 

Ephraim will be oppressed, ¹  crushed ²  under judgment, ³  because he was determined to pursue worthless idols. ⁴
