If someone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.

we are persecuted, but not abandoned; ¹  we are knocked down, ²  but not destroyed,

If a homicide victim ¹  should be found lying in a field in the land the Lord your God is giving you, ²  and no one knows who killed ³  him,

Your servant Joab did this so as to change this situation. But my lord has wisdom like that of the angel of God, and knows everything that is happening in the land.” ¹ 

They are unfamiliar with peace; their deeds are unjust. ¹  They use deceitful methods, and whoever deals with them is unfamiliar with peace. ² 

The Lord said, “Jerusalem, ¹  I will surely send you away for your own good. I will surely ²  bring the enemy upon you in a time of trouble and distress.

so that it will not be obvious to others when you are fasting, but only to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

saying, “What should we do with these men? For it is plain ¹  to all who live in Jerusalem that a notable miraculous sign ²  has come about through them, ³  and we cannot deny it.

For God, whom I serve in my spirit by preaching the gospel ¹  of his Son, is my witness that ²  I continually remember you

For who concedes you any superiority? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as though you did not?

For now we see in a mirror indirectly, ¹  but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known.

Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, ¹  we try to persuade ²  people, ³  but we are well known ⁴  to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.

From ¹  the elder, ²  to an elect lady ³  and her children, whom I love in truth ⁴  (and not I alone, but also all those ⁵  who know the truth),

So ¹  I said to him, “My lord, you know the answer.” ²  Then ³  he said to me, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They ⁴  have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!

Now I am sending you Huram Abi, ¹  a skilled and capable man,

If ¹  his sons are honored, ²  he does not know it; ³  if they are brought low, he does not see ⁴  it.

Even now my witness ¹  is in heaven; my advocate ²  is on high.

For he looks to the ends of the earth and observes everything under the heavens.

Our God is a God who delivers; the Lord, the sovereign Lord, can rescue from death. ¹ 

O God, you are aware of my foolish sins; ¹  my guilt is not hidden from you. ²
