Listen! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you at all!

Each of you should be concerned ¹  not only ²  about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well. ³ 

We thank God always for all of you as we mention you constantly ¹  in our prayers,

And so ¹  you know what holds him back, ²  so that he will be revealed in his own time.

But reject those myths ¹  fit only for the godless and gullible, ²  and train yourself for godliness.

As I remember your tears, I long to see you, ¹  so that I may be filled with joy.

Alexander the coppersmith did me a great deal of harm. ¹  The Lord will repay him in keeping with his deeds. ² 

Instead he must be hospitable, devoted to what is good, sensible, upright, devout, and self-controlled.

For he was looking forward to the city with firm foundations, ¹  whose architect and builder is God.

For the one who obeys the whole law but fails ¹  in one point has become guilty of all of it. ² 

or to governors as those he commissions ¹  to punish wrongdoers and praise ²  those who do good.

But, according to his promise, we are waiting for ¹  new heavens and a new earth, in which ²  righteousness truly resides. ³ 

But those who were to camp in front of the tabernacle on the east, in front of the tent of meeting, were Moses, Aaron, ¹  and his sons. They were responsible for the needs ²  of the sanctuary and for the needs of the Israelites, but the unauthorized person who approached was to be put to death.

Rather it is because of his ¹  love ²  for you and his faithfulness to the promise ³  he solemnly vowed ⁴  to your ancestors ⁵  that the Lord brought you out with great power, ⁶  redeeming ⁷  you from the place of slavery, from the power ⁸  of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Is that all of the young men?” Jesse ¹  replied, “There is still the youngest one, but he’s taking care of the flock.” Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and get him, for we cannot turn our attention to other things until he comes here.”

Do the job the Lord your God has assigned you ¹  by following his instructions ²  and obeying ³  his rules, commandments, regulations, and laws as written in the law of Moses. Then you will succeed in all you do and seek to accomplish, ⁴ 

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work. ¹  Let them do this ²  with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you.

“What have you done?” Laban demanded of Jacob. “You’ve deceived me ¹  and carried away my daughters as if they were captives of war! ² 

The men are shepherds; ¹  they take care of livestock. ²  They have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.’

the owner of the pit must repay ¹  the loss. He must give money ²  to its owner, and the dead animal ³  will become his.
