When you see a thief, you join him; ¹  you associate with men who are unfaithful to their wives. ² 

The Lord said, ¹  “I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have made a promise on oath to David, my servant:

Certainly ¹  you made my mind and heart; ²  you wove me together ³  in my mother’s womb.

Everyone who is caught will be stabbed; everyone who is seized ¹  will die ²  by the sword.

their wings touched each other; they did not turn as they moved, but went straight ahead. ¹ 

When they stumble, they will be granted some help. But many will unite with them deceitfully.

Now when Jesus learned of this, he went away from there. Great ¹  crowds ²  followed him, and he healed them all.

Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

Peter began to speak to him, “Look, ¹  we have left everything to follow you!” ² 

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus ¹  from one town after another, ²  he spoke to them ³  in a parable:

When they had made a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them.

While ¹  they were talking and debating ²  these things, ³  Jesus himself approached and began to accompany them

so many of the Jewish people of the region ¹  had come to Martha and Mary to console them ²  over the loss of their brother.) ³ 

Then the squad of soldiers ¹  with their commanding officer ²  and the officers of the Jewish leaders ³  arrested ⁴  Jesus and tied him up. ⁵ 

So those who accepted ¹  his message ²  were baptized, and that day about three thousand people ³  were added. ⁴ 

They were devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, ¹  to the breaking of bread and to prayer. ² 

in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Peace to the brothers and sisters, ¹  and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man who had lived a full life. ¹  He joined his ancestors. ² 

So Israel’s sons came to buy grain among the other travelers, ¹  for the famine was severe in the land of Canaan.
