But when Jesus discerned their innermost thoughts, ¹  he took a child, had him stand by ²  his side,

But give from your heart to those in need, ¹  and ²  then everything will be clean for you. ³ 

because what can be known about God is plain to them, ¹  because God has made it plain to them.

So each of his men also cut off a branch and followed Abimelech. They put the branches ¹  against the stronghold and set fire to it. ²  All the people ³  of the Tower of Shechem died – about a thousand men and women.

You are to hang it ¹  with gold hooks ²  on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold, set in ³  four silver bases.

Then you are to cut the ram into pieces and wash the entrails and its legs and put them on its pieces and on its head

He made loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in the first set; he did the same along the edge of the end curtain in the second set.

He made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set and fifty loops along the edge of the curtain that joined the second set.

He made the special curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen; he made ¹  it with cherubim, the work of an artistic designer.

and the coverings of ram skins dyed red, the covering of fine leather, ¹  and the protecting ²  curtain;

You are to put ¹  the gold altar for incense in front of the ark of the testimony and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle.

And he put the table in the tent of meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the curtain.

Then he must present from it his offering as a gift to the Lord: the fat which covers the entrails and all the fat on the entrails, ¹

Then the one making the offering ¹  must present all its fat: the fatty tail, the fat covering the entrails,

Then they must put over it a covering of fine leather ¹  and spread over that a cloth entirely of blue, and then they must insert its poles.

He has brought you near and all your brothers, the sons of Levi, with you. Do you now seek ¹  the priesthood also?

The sword will make people childless outside, and terror will do so inside; they will destroy ¹  both the young man and the virgin, the infant and the gray-haired man.
