He gave it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as a lasting promise, ¹ 

He allowed the hungry to settle there, and they established a city in which to live.

His acts are characterized by ¹  faithfulness and justice; all his precepts are reliable. ² 

Though his ¹  officials are in Zoan and his messengers arrive at Hanes, ² 

An honorable man makes honorable plans; his honorable character gives him security. ¹ 

So the churches were being strengthened in the faith and were increasing in number every day. ¹ 

just as the testimony about Christ has been confirmed among you –

if indeed you remain in the faith, established and firm, ¹  without shifting ²  from the hope of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has also been preached in all creation under heaven, and I, Paul, have become its servant.

Now, Lord God, may your promise ¹  to my father David be realized, ²  for you have made me king over a great nation as numerous as the dust of the earth.

There was a large number of burnt sacrifices, as well as fat from the peace offerings and drink offerings that accompanied the burnt sacrifices. So the service of the Lord’s temple was reinstituted. ¹ 

He lifted me out of the watery pit, ¹  out of the slimy mud. ²  He placed my feet on a rock and gave me secure footing. ³ 

But the man who is firm in his commitment, and is under no necessity but has control over his will, and has decided in his own mind to keep his own virgin, does well.

What I am saying is this: The law that came four hundred thirty years later does not cancel a covenant previously ratified by God, ¹  so as to invalidate the promise.

“‘These are the Lord’s appointed times, holy assemblies, which you must proclaim at their appointed time.

Cush was the father of Nimrod, who established himself as a mighty warrior on earth. ¹ 

You made Israel your very own nation for all time. ¹  You, O Lord, became their God.

For ¹  then you will lift up your face without ²  blemish; ³  you will be securely established ⁴  and will not fear.

But God ¹  drags off the mighty by his power; when God ²  rises up against him, he has no faith in his life. ³ 

You set up all the boundaries ¹  of the earth; you created the cycle of summer and winter. ² 

In earlier times you established the earth; the skies are your handiwork.
