I have become a brother to jackals and a companion of ostriches. ¹ 

If ¹  I have walked in falsehood, and if ²  my foot has hastened ³  to deceit –

Then you will take delight in the Lord, ¹  and he will answer your prayers. ² 

I almost ¹  came to complete ruin ²  in the midst of the whole congregation!” ³ 

Leave the presence of a foolish person, ¹  or ²  you will not understand ³  wise counsel. ⁴ 

The scorner does not love ¹  one who corrects him; ²  he will not go to ³  the wise.

Do not fret because of evil people or be envious of wicked people,

for both of you ¹  rebelled against me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the desert of Zin when you did not show me proper respect ²  among the Israelites.

When Saul and his servant ¹  arrived at Gibeah, a company of prophets was coming out to meet him. Then the spirit of God rushed upon Saul ²  and he prophesied among them.

When the members of the prophetic guild in Jericho, ¹  who were standing at a distance, ²  saw him do this, they said, “The spirit that energized Elijah ³  rests upon Elisha.” They went to meet him and bowed down to the ground before him.

Now Elisha the prophet summoned a member of the prophetic guild ¹  and told him, “Tuck your robes into your belt, take this container ²  of olive oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

Our God, will you not judge them? For we are powerless against this huge army that attacks us! We don’t know what we should do; we look to you for help.” ¹ 

Sound your battle cry ¹  against the wild beast of the reeds, ²  and the nations that assemble like a herd of calves led by bulls! ³  They humble themselves ⁴  and offer gold and silver as tribute. ⁵  God ⁶  scatters ⁷  the nations that like to do battle.
