for then he would have had to suffer again and again since the foundation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the consummation of the ages to put away sin by his sacrifice.

the twenty-four elders throw themselves to the ground ¹  before the one who sits on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever, and they offer their crowns ²  before his ³  throne, saying:

And the smoke from their ¹  torture will go up ²  forever and ever, and those who worship the beast and his image will have ³  no rest day or night, along with ⁴  anyone who receives the mark of his name.”

Everyone who crosses over to those numbered, from twenty years old and up, is to pay an offering to the Lord.

And life ¹  will be brighter ²  than the noonday; though there be darkness, ³  it will be like the morning.

The Lord God of Israel deserves praise ¹  in the future and forevermore! ²  We agree! We agree! ³ 

but, despite their wealth, people do not last, ¹  they are like animals ²  that perish. ³ 

Wealthy people do not understand; ¹  they are like animals ²  that perish. ³ 

who satisfies your life with good things, ¹  so your youth is renewed like an eagle’s. ² 

The glory ¹  of young men is their strength, and the splendor ²  of old men is gray hair. ³ 

“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their ¹  hands when they eat.” ² 

I tell you the truth, ¹  this generation ²  will not pass away until all these things take place.

And which of you by worrying ¹  can add an hour to his life? ² 

But when he was about forty years old, it entered his mind ¹  to visit his fellow countrymen ²  the Israelites. ³
