So the Lord graciously attended to Hannah, and she was able to conceive and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. The boy Samuel grew up at the Lord’s sanctuary. ¹ 

But my loyal love will not be removed from him as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.

But if God ¹  is quiet, who can condemn ²  him? If he hides his face, then who can see him? Yet ³  he is over the individual and the nation alike, ⁴ 

You are the most handsome of all men! ¹  You speak in an impressive and fitting manner! ²  For this reason ³  God grants you continual blessings. ⁴ 

You will rise up and have compassion on Zion. ¹  For it is time to have mercy on her, for the appointed time has come.

Teach me to do what pleases you, ¹  for you are my God. May your kind presence ²  lead me ³  into a level land. ⁴ 

I am delighted to tell you about the signs and wonders that the most high God has done for me.

“This is what ¹  the Lord has done for me at the time ²  when he has been gracious to me, ³  to take away my disgrace ⁴  among people.” ⁵ 

At that very time ¹  Jesus ²  cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, ³  and evil spirits, and granted ⁴  sight to many who were blind.

I do not set aside ¹  God’s grace, because if righteousness ²  could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing! ³ 

You who are trying to be declared righteous ¹  by the law have been alienated ²  from Christ; you have fallen away from grace!

In him ¹  we have redemption through his blood, ²  the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

Because of this I remind you to rekindle God’s gift that you possess ¹  through the laying on of my hands.

At the same time also, prepare a place for me to stay, for I hope that through your prayers I will be given back to you.

Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help. ¹ 

and to Jesus, the mediator ¹  of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks of something better than Abel’s does. ² 

Concerning this salvation, ¹  the prophets ²  who predicted the grace that would come to you ³  searched and investigated carefully.

but the inner person ¹  of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another ¹  as good stewards of the varied grace of God.

I was embarrassed to request soldiers and horsemen from the king to protect us from the enemy ¹  along the way, because we had said to the king, “The good hand of our God is on everyone who is seeking him, but his great anger ²  is against everyone who forsakes him.”
