I will destroy anyone who slanders his neighbor in secret. I will not tolerate anyone who has a cocky demeanor and an arrogant attitude. ¹ 

So what advantage does a wise man have over a fool? ¹  And what advantage ²  does a pauper gain by knowing how to survive? ³ 

He said, “Go, Daniel. For these matters are closed and sealed until the time of the end.

“Because ¹  you have acted like a wanton prostitute ²  – a seductive mistress who practices sorcery, ³  who ⁴  enslaves ⁵  nations by her harlotry, ⁶  and entices peoples by her sorcery ⁷  –

on the day when God will judge ¹  the secrets of human hearts, ²  according to my gospel ³  through Christ Jesus.

When I came ¹  to you, brothers and sisters, ²  I did not come with superior eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed the testimony ³  of God.

For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, for no one understands; he is speaking mysteries by the Spirit. ¹ 

Pray ¹  for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak ²  – that I may confidently make known ³  the mystery of the gospel,

On ¹  her forehead was written a name, a mystery: ²  “Babylon the Great, the Mother of prostitutes and of the detestable things of the earth.”

Then ¹  he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy contained in this book, because the time is near.

Simeon and Levi are brothers, weapons of violence are their knives! ¹ 

Foreigners lose their courage; ¹  they shake with fear ²  as they leave ³  their strongholds. ⁴ 

His servants conspired against him and killed him in his palace.

what wise men declare, hiding nothing, from the tradition of ¹  their ancestors, ² 

They turn the needy from the pathway, and the poor of the land hide themselves together. ¹ 

if ¹  I have covered my transgressions as men do, ²  by hiding ³  iniquity in my heart, ⁴ 

Have you entered the storehouse ¹  of the snow, or seen the armory ²  of the hail,

foreigners lose their courage; ¹  they shake with fear ²  as they leave ³  their strongholds. ⁴ 

Then you will take delight in the Lord, ¹  and he will answer your prayers. ² 

Indeed, ¹  you are ²  my shelter, a strong tower that protects me from the enemy. ³
