So he threw a big banquet ¹  for them and they ate and drank. Then he sent them back ²  to their master. After that no Syrian raiding parties again invaded the land of Israel.

So they started toward ¹  the Syrian camp at dusk. When they reached the edge of the Syrian camp, there was no one there.

The Lord provided a deliverer ¹  for Israel and they were freed from Syria’s power. ²  The Israelites once more lived in security. ³ 

David placed garrisons in the territory of the Arameans of Damascus; ¹  the Arameans became David’s subjects and brought tribute. The Lord protected ²  David wherever he campaigned. ³ 

Even though the invading Syrian army was relatively weak, the Lord handed over to them Judah’s very large army, ¹  for the people of Judah ²  had abandoned the Lord God of their ancestors. The Syrians ³  gave Joash what he deserved. ⁴ 

Now ¹  on the first day of the feast of ²  Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed, ³  Jesus’ ⁴  disciples said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?” ⁵ 

So he sent horses and chariots there, along with a good-sized army. ¹  They arrived during the night and surrounded the city.

Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, the tribal chief of Judah.

The Elamites picked up the quiver, and came with chariots and horsemen; ¹  the men of Kir ²  prepared ³  the shield. ⁴ 

Then ¹  he looked up to heaven and said with a sigh, “Ephphatha” (that is, “Be opened”). ² 

If then you haven’t been trustworthy ¹  in handling worldly wealth, ²  who will entrust you with the true riches? ³ 

Jesus ¹  sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover ²  for us to eat.” ³ 

So ¹  they went and found things ²  just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired ¹  to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She ¹  turned and said to him in Aramaic, ²  “Rabboni” ³  (which means Teacher). ⁴ 

Then the king of Israel marched out and struck down the horses and chariots; he thoroughly defeated ¹  Syria.

In the spring ¹  Ben Hadad mustered the Syrian army ²  and marched to Aphek to fight Israel. ³ 

But the prophet sent this message to the king of Israel, “Make sure you don’t pass through this place because Syria is invading there.”

So they picked two horsemen and the king sent them out to track the Syrian army. ¹  He ordered them, “Go and find out what’s going on.” ² 

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over ¹  to be crucified.” ²
