The boy grew and one day he went out to see his father who was with the harvest workers. ¹ 

It was handed over ¹  to the foremen who used it to repair the Lord’s temple.

And between the room above the corner and the Sheep Gate the goldsmiths and traders worked.

The one who is lazy ¹  becomes poor, ²  but the one who works diligently ³  becomes wealthy. ⁴ 

The appetite ¹  of the sluggard ²  craves ³  but gets nothing, but the desire of the diligent will be abundantly satisfied. ⁴ 

Luxury is not appropriate ¹  for a fool; ²  how much less for a servant to rule over princes! ³ 

The one who works his land will be satisfied with food, ¹  but whoever chases daydreams ²  will have his fill ³  of poverty.

A servant ¹  cannot be corrected ²  by words, for although ³  he understands, there is no answer. ⁴ 

Do not slander ¹  a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you are found guilty. ² 

And after agreeing with the workers for the standard wage, ¹  he sent them into his vineyard.

I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me ¹  like one of your hired workers.”’

Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation. ¹ 

For this reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities ¹  are God’s servants devoted to governing. ² 

also to submit to people like this, and to everyone who cooperates in the work and labors hard.

Slaves ¹  are to be subject to their own masters in everything, ²  to do what is wanted and not talk back,

So Jeshua appointed both his sons and his relatives, ¹  Kadmiel and his sons (the sons of Yehudah ² ), to take charge of the workers in the temple of God, along with the sons of Henadad, their sons, and their relatives ³  the Levites.

The Lord showed me two baskets of figs sitting before his temple. This happened after King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon deported Jehoiakim’s son, King Jeconiah of Judah. He deported him and the leaders of Judah, along with the craftsmen and metal workers, and took them to Babylon. ¹ 

The magicians did the same ¹  with their secret arts and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt too. ² 

When ¹  the magicians attempted ²  to bring forth gnats by their secret arts, they could not. So there were gnats on people and on animals.

Those ¹  of Pharaoh’s servants who feared the word of the Lord hurried to bring their ²  servants and livestock into the houses,
